International Women's Day

International Women’s Day (IWD), held annually on 8 March, now unites millions of women around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations. Many events are taking place across the globe and at home to celebrate this important date. For more information visit www.internationalwomensday.com/default.asp.

The City of Yarra is proud to support IWD events in the community by providing a listing of activities on this website.

Women Making Waves

A program that provides all women with the opportunity to swim, relax and participate in aqua activities in a male free and culturally sensitive environment. The program is run on Saturday evenings at the Collingwood Leisure Centre between 6.30pm-8.30pm with an aqua class being held at 7pm-8pm.

Prices:
$4.20 for adults
$2.10 for concession
$2.40 for children
Local pensioners FREE

This cost covers the use of pool, spa/sauna and aqua class.

Australia and New Zealand led the world in affording women political and social rights. June 2002 marked 100 years since Australia granted women the right to vote and stand for parliament in federal elections.
