
The City of Yarra’s leisure centres will be offering special activities and events for members during the FINA World Swimming Championships from 12 - 30 March 2007.
The Richmond Recreation Centre and the Fitzroy Swimming Pool have been chosen by FINA to stage Aquatic Training during the championships. Over this period, Yarra Leisure will be hosting many exciting activities, raffles and giveaways including an invitation for all members to join them for a free breakfast or evening energy booster every day during the venue closures.
City of Yarra Mayor, Cr Jenny Farrar, said that Council was offering a range of benefits to members to get them involved in the fun and excitement of the event.
“During the Swimming World Championships, all Yarra Leisure members will be eligible to use all facilities at the Collingwood, Richmond and Fitzroy centres, and will have free access to the Burnley Golf Course from 12.00pm onwards everyday,” she said.
“Members will also be able to watch the elite athletes in action at the viewing area at the Richmond Recreation Centre which will be open throughout the training sessions.”
