1 March 2007Yarra Leisure Members Benefit from FINA World Championship Closures
The City of Yarra’s leisure centres will be offering special activities and events for members during the FINA World Swimming Championships from 12 - 30 March 2007.
The Richmond Recreation Centre and the Fitzroy Swimming Pool have been chosen by FINA to stage Aquatic Training during the championships. Over this period, Yarra Leisure will be hosting many exciting activities, raffles and giveaways including an invitation for all members to join them for a free breakfast or evening energy booster every day during the venue closures.
City of Yarra Mayor, Cr Jenny Farrar, said that Council was offering a range of benefits to members to get them involved in the fun and excitement of the event.
“During the Swimming World Championships, all Yarra Leisure members will be eligible to use all facilities at the Collingwood, Richmond and Fitzroy centres, and will have free access to the Burnley Golf Course from 12.00pm onwards everyday,” she said.
“Members will also be able to watch the elite athletes in action at the viewing area at the Richmond Recreation Centre which will be open throughout the training sessions.”

Tue 13 Mar to Fri 16 Mar – 8.00am to 6.00pm
Sat 17 Mar – 7.00am to 10.00am
Sun 18 Mar to Mon 19 Mar – 8.00am to 12.00pm

Tues 20 Mar to Wed 21 Mar – 8.00am to 12.30pm, 3.30pm to 8.00pm
Thurs 22 Mar – 8.00am to 12.30pm, 4.00pm to 7.00pm
Fri 23 Mar to Sat 24 Mar – 8.00am to 12.30pm, 4.00pm to 7.00pm
