
Yarra City Council Mayor, Cr Jenny Farrar, announced today the appointment of Justin Hanney, as the new Chief Executive Officer of the City of Yarra.
“Justin joins us from Regional Development Victoria and brings to Yarra extensive leadership experience in local and State Government and the not-for-profit sector,” she said.
“Justin’s local government experience includes the position of Chief Executive Officer at Wangaratta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Bendigo, and positions at Banyule and Greater Dandenong.
“His previous local government management responsibilities range from community services, planning, economic development and capital works.
“Justin is known for his strong strategic planning skills, his commitment to community consultation, and sound leadership and collaboration skills. He has a proven track record of building effective partnerships with industry and the community.
“On behalf of Councillors and staff, I would like to welcome Justin to Yarra. We look forward to the extensive expertise and experience that he brings to this organisation and municipality.
“In welcoming this appointment, I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of Craig Kenny and Bryan Lancaster, in their acting roles as Chief Executive Officer leading up to Justin’s commencement.”
Justin will commence as CEO of the City of Yarra on Monday 29 January 2007.
