The Department of Human Services has this afternoon notified Yarra City Council that a Clifton Hill child has been diagnosed with Swine Flu.
Mayor Cr Amanda Stone said any residents with concerns should contact the Federal Government’s Swine Influenza Hotline on 180 2007, or Nurse-On-Call on 1300 606 024.
“The State Government has advised us that their health officials are already out in our community, providing support and advice,” Cr Stone said.
“They will be working closely with our community to help with the quarantining of any children, and to provide antiviral drugs,” she said.
“In these kinds of situations, people need access to factual information so we are pleased that this is being provided promptly.
“Council will keep a watching brief, and is ready to provide whatever support we can if it is requested by the State or Federal Governments.”
