2006/2007 Adopted Budget

At its special meeting on 18 July 2006 the Yarra City Council resolved that its 2006/2007 Budget be adopted in accordance with section 127 of the Local Government Act 1989.

Some Budget highlights include:

A total Operating Expenditure Budget of $90.8 million.
A budgeted Operating Surplus of $7.1 million
$21.4 million of Capital Works Projects.
A reduction of borrowings of $2.7 million from $15.2 million to $11.7 million.
$1.6 million of new initiatives in response to community needs.
$1.52 in Community grants.
Continuation of the Pensioner Rate assistance Program from $26.25 to $27.70.
Continuation of the Community Housing Rates Waiver. A total $20,000 is included in the budget.
