Strategic Planning Documents and Policies

There are a number of strategic planning documents that guide planning in Yarra. The State Government’s Melbourne 2030 policy is the overarching state-wide strategic document under which local and regional policies are created.

Yarra also works closely with the inner-metropolitan councils of Melbourne, Stonnington and Port Phillip to ensure an integrated regional approach to planning. Together, the four inner-metropolitan councils have developed two documents, the Inner Melbourne Action Plan (IMAP) and Inner Regional Housing Statement (IRHS).
