Balmain Street Streetscape Improvements
Yarra City Council is undertaking works in Balmain Street Cremorne, between the railway line and Gwynne Street.
This project was recommended in the Cremorne Urban Design Framework (adopted by Council in 2007), which highlighted the need for more public space.
The plan narrows the road space and widens the footpaths to create public space and improve the environment for pedestrians. The streetscape improvements will include raising the section of road to match the footpath height, installing new seats, bicycle hoops, low garden beds, and deciduous trees.
