Graffiti

In July 2004, Council adopted a new Graffiti Management Policy and Strategy.

What is graffiti?

Graffiti is the marking of property with words, lettering, symbols or graphics, without the consent of the owner, using materials such as spray can paint and felt tip pens. Most graffiti can be identified in the following forms:

'tagging' - the signature or initials of the 'graffer' or 'writer'
'pieces' - a mural containing a signature
political or social comment
stencils or cut-outs.
