Proposal to name Pandoleon Lane, Richmond
18 May 2016
At its meeting on Tuesday, 17 May 2016, Yarra City Council resolved its intent to assign the name ‘Pandoleon Lane’ to an unnamed right of way beside 4 Mary Street and behind 318 to 328 Bridge Road, Richmond (see shaded section of map below).
The right-of-way is to be named after the late John Pandoleon, who opened a delicatessen at 324 Bridge Road, Richmond, in 1976 and operated it with his children for 15 years. The delicatessen remains in family ownership and still operates from the same premises, which abuts the right-of-way. Council believes that naming the right-of-way in recognition of Mr Pandoleon is a fitting way of acknowledging Yarra’s rich and diverse migrant history.
You can make a submission in relation to the proposal by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to Senior Governance Advisor, City of Yarra, PO Box 168, Richmond 3121. Submissions must be received by Thursday, 23 June 2016.
