City of Yarra has produced a series of Sustainable Neighbourhood Walking Maps to help residents find out more about practical environmental initiatives in their local area.
The maps feature a walking trail of local sites where water sensitive urban design treatments, water tanks, community gardens and solar panels have been installed by Council, local organisations such as schools and neighbourhood houses and other members of the community.
The maps are a great resource for local residents, walking groups, schools and community groups and provide practical information and examples of actions that can be taken in your own home.
Maps are currently available for:
Why not organise a sustainable walking tour for your group or combine it with a speaker or environmental workshop. For further ideas about using the map with your community or walking group contact the Environmental Management Unit on 9205 5555.
