The former home of the Collingwood Football Club, Victoria Park has been transformed into a major community recreation space.

At least $7.2 million was spent on the redevelopment, with the Australian Government committing $3.5 million and Yarra Council spending at least $3.7 million on the redevelopment over several years. Here is a May 2010 media release about the project.

The revitalised ground was relaunched at a community event on Sunday 4 December 2011.

Collingwood Football Club VFL games

In 2009, Council gave the Collingwood Football Club (CFC) permission to play its VFL home games at Victoria Park. Permission was given for the VFL team to play games at Victoria Park.

There is no requirement for Collingwood to erect temporary fencing around the stadium or to charge for entry. This means residents from across Yarra are able to attend all games for free.

Accessibility

Victoria Park is wheelchair accessible.
