Dights Falls is a tranquil escape from the noise and chaos of the city.
The Falls mark the point where salt water from the sea meets the fresh water of the Yarra River. It is where the river's native fish migrate annually from the estuary upstream to freshwater to breed. The Falls also are also an important historical site. The Wurundjeri people camped here before European settlement. Dight's Ceres Mill, Melbourne's oldest industrial site is also located on the Falls.
The Main Yarra Trail also travels through Dights Falls.

Dights Falls Park is wheelchair accessible, including an accessible toilet and parking.
Dights Falls Weir and Fishway Project
Melbourne Water is completing works to replace the ageing Dights Falls Weir and build a new fishway in the Yarra River between November 2010 and August/September 2011.
The project was orginally expected to finish in mid-2011 but has been delayed until autumn 2012 due to work being hampered by higher than expected river levels.
The new weir will be similar in shape, location and height to the existing structure and continue an important role controlling water levels in the river.
A new fishway will allow fish to swim past the weir, benefiting 11 species of native migratory fish and unlocking vast reaches or the Yarra and its tributaries upstream.
While this work is carried out access to parts of Dights Falls and sections of the car park off Trenerry Crescent will be restricted.
