Plants and Animals
Although Yarra is an inner city area, it still exhibits a diverse and significant biodiversity.
Biodiversity is the variety of all living things – plants, animals and micro-organisms, their genes and the ecosystems in which they exist.
Council is working to protect the biodiversity of Yarra. Find out about our programs to eradicate environmental weeds, protect remnant vegetation and encourage native wildlife.
