Yarra City Council is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with accessibility needs. We continue to make changes to improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards. 

We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (commonly known as WCAG2.0). Wherever possible, we aim to adhere to level AA of the WCAG 2.0 guidelines.

Under these guidelines, all information on our website must be accessible and usable for people of all abilities including people with visual, hearing, cognitive or motor impairments.

PageAssist toolbar

As part of our efforts to achieve a more accessible web experience for all our users, we use Monsido’s Page Assist toolbar on our website.

The toolbar provides an overlay to assist visitors customise their experience based on their unique needs including:

Using PDF documents

Our website includes a number of portable document format (PDF) files. While we aim to provide information in the most accessible format, some resources can only be provided efficiently as PDF files.

Third-party services

Our website embeds or links to third-party services that, in some cases, may have different levels of accessibility that are beyond our control. When we review these systems, any upgrades or replacements will consider accessibility as part of the requirements to ensure they meet accessibility standards.
