After School Care

The City of Yarra operates 3 After School Care programs during the school terms.

Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
Brochure -programs in Yarra link

After School Care is a fully supervised recreational program for primary school aged children. Children attending After Care can participate in a variety of organised activities or choose to relax in a safe and stimulating environment. The program is planned to meet the needs of children and families. A balance of indoor and outdoor, physically active and passive play options is offered.

After School Care (ASC) employees are qualified teachers, trainee teachers and other qualified and experienced staff members who have all successfully completed a National Police Check, first aid qualifications and other relevant training. The ASC program follows the Department of Family and Community Services - National Standards for Outside School Hours Care (1996) and is registered with National Childcare Accreditation Council for Quality Assurance.

Children are encouraged to help in planning their program. Some of these activities include:

We encourage parents to discuss their children's needs, likes and dislikes, with program staff. Ongoing communication between parents and staff is vital and helpful in providing quality programs for the children.

After School operates from the end of school until 6.00 pm each weeknight during school term.

Inclusive program

The City of Yarra offers an inclusive program for all children in the City of Yarra. Please contact the Outside School Hours Care Program Leader on 9205 5479 if your child has additional needs to make arrangements for Special Needs Subsidy Scheme (SNSS) Enrolments.
